Getting Started with Fetch the Vet
Whether it’s routine check-ups, vaccinations, or ongoing health support, we bring the clinic to your couch so you and your pet can relax while we do the rest.
This section walks you through how our mobile service works - from booking your visit, to what to expect on the day, and how we care for your pet afterwards.
1. Book your Visit
Select a convenient date and time that fits your schedule. We offer flexible home-visit or work-place appointments to minimise stress for both pets and pet parents.
2. Prepare for the Visit
On the day of your appointment, we’ll arrive at your home with everything required for a thorough veterinary consultation. Please allow a 30-minute arrival window, just in case the previous visit takes longer than expected.
If your pet gets a bit nervous, it’s best to keep them in a comfy carrier, the bathroom, or a quiet room so they don’t dash off and hide.
If your pet has any little quirks or behavioural issues we should know about, please share them with us in advance - it helps keep the visit safe and stress-free for everyone.
3. The Visit
The consultation will take place right in the comfort of your home or workplace, where we’ll provide a thorough examination along with tailored treatment and advice.
Payment is due at the time of the visit and can be made easily via debit/credit card or cash.
4. On-going Support & Follow-Up
After the examination, we’ll provide you with a vaccination certificate or treatment instructions, medications if required, and clear guidance for ongoing care.
You’ll also receive friendly reminders for future check-ups or vaccination reminders, plus the option to access trusted pet products and dietary support through us.

Fetching Answers
Fetch the Vet is NOT AN EMERGENCY SERVICE. If your pet is in a critical condition, please contact your nearest 24/7 emergency vet clinic immediately. That said, we’re always here for follow-up care, advice, and support once your pet is stable.
We don’t perform surgeries during home visits, but we can assess your pet and recommend the best next steps. If surgery is needed, we’ll refer you to a trusted local clinic and work with them to ensure seamless care.
We know pets don’t always stick to a 9–5 schedule! While we don’t offer regular after-hours services, we make exceptions for planned goodbye home visits. We’ll always do our best to accommodate your needs when we can.
Absolutely! If your pet is on long-term medication and has been examined within the last 6 months, we can provide repeat prescriptions.
All medications are hand delivered to your door.
A quick check-up is needed every 6 months to ensure the medication is still right for them—because we care about their health as much as you do (and it's a legal requirement).
If you are a new to Fetch the Vet, you'll need to get your pets medical history emailed to us at info@fetchthevet.com.au
Yes, you can! We have a range of common prescription and therapeutic diets on hand, and if we don't have the particular diet your pet is on, we can order it in for you.
All orders are hand-delivered to your door.
If you're not sure what’s best, we’re happy to recommend the right option after a consult.
